The Fighting 32 Swordsmen and their two F/A 18 F's
Based out of Oceana, Virginia USS Truman
This year, 2011, marks 100 years of Naval Aviation!
I flew down to Lexington Bluegrass Airport over the weekend June 25th and 26th to the Aviation Museum of Kentucky to meet 4 of our Nation's Naval Aviators of the "Fighting 32 Swordsmen" who are based off of the USS Truman. They flew in 2 F/A 18 F's and gave a wonderful presentation on their squadron and what they do and did in Iraq/Afganistan. Before their presentation I presented the AMK with a desk size model of my grandfather's quadraplane and then gave each of the pilots a copy of my book "A Moment in Time" to thank them for serving our Country.
These fighter jets were not their own personal jets that they use in combat. These were the two they take on tour, as their personal jets have to be ready to take off at anytime from the USS Truman.
Thanks again to Commander Tim Hill, Lt. Jason Heath, Lt. Cliff Sovich and Lt. Richard Parisi. You guys are the best of the best!!! What a great presentation and what fabulous F18's!!!! Thanks!
